COCC and the Bend Endurance Academy are teaming up to offer a Cyclocross Club!
Cyclocross (CX) is the cycling discipline that captures it all: dirt, pavement, mud, sand, grass, speed, mounts, dismounts, barriers, climbs, descents – all on a short course surrounded by a rowdy crowd of spectators.
The COCC CX Club will meet from September through December and travel to races across Oregon. National Championships will be in Bend in December and are open to anyone, so all club members are encouraged to race the biggest race on the calendar right here in Bend. The CX Club is run in partnership with the Bend Endurance Academy, a local non-profit specializing in cycling and Nordic skiing programs. We will have vans traveling to the races to share rides and make the trips as affordable as possible. Check out the Tentative Race/Travel Schedule.
Scheduled Practices:
- Starts in September, 2011
- Tuesday, 3:45 pm, meet at Summit High School
- Wednesday, 3:45 pm, meet at Skyliner’s Sport Complex (Cascade Middle School)
- Thursday, 3:45 pm, meet at Mazama, COCC
- Weekends will vary, especially with travel
